WHO WE ARE

The Los Angeles Instructors Network (LAIN) was first started in the early 1990's when two Driver Trainer Advisory Councils (DTAC) merged.  The DTAC's first started in the 1980's and are groups of State Certified Instructors who work closely with the State of California Department of Education's School Bus Driver Instructor Program.  The original DTAC's were known as the San Gabriel Valley and the Inter Valley DTAC's.

MISSION STATEMENT

LAIN strives to increase and improve communication between instructors, state agencies, school bus drivers and interested parties.  We also seek to offer  industry improving workshops to school bus drivers and the school bus driver ROAD-E-O teams and participants.  Our goal is to be the leading DTAC in the state of California.

WHAT WE DO

LAIN (in partnership with CASTO Chapter 4) provides School Bus Driver Workshops twice a year and ROAD-E-O Workshops as needed, write letters on current industry issues to the School Bus Advisory Committee of the California Highway Patrol, provides a forum for speakers and presentations on important industry topics for our members and seeks to improve the quality of communication and cooperation among the various groups interested in school pupil transportation in Southern California.
